Who doesn't love cupcakes? With Valentine's Day approaching, you may want to pick up a dozen - whether for that "special someone" or because you're single and you deserve to treat yourself once in a while.
The Canadian Classic: Cupcakes
With multiple locations in BC and one Toronto location, it can be difficult to procure one of these cupcakes, but if you get the chance, they're worth it! At one point, you couldn't escape Heather and Lori's TV show, Cupcake Girls, and it's nice to see the show wasn't "all talk" - the cupcakes are just as delicious as they look.
The International Superstar: Lola's Cupcakes
I ended up buying cupcakes multiple times in London this past December, and Lola's were amazing. From their cute packaging to their inventive flavours, my heart is broken at the lack of a Lola's in my half of the world.
The “I’m Feeling Fancy”: BakerBots
For a more local (for me) option, check out BakerBots. I make it a point to drop into the bakery when I'm in the area for a show, and I can attest that their cupcakes are super tasty (the ice cream sandwiches are a good alternative, especially in the summer!).
The FoodTube Sensation: CupcakeJemma
I think Jemma might be my new hero: not only does she craft delectable-looking cupcakes, but she's covered in tattoos and is friends with Jamie Oliver. What's not to love about her?
The Wishlist Experience: Crumbs & Doilies
Jemma (see above) has a couple of bakeries in the UK and I (foolishly) keep forgetting to drop in. Buying baked goods from Crumbs & Doilies is now on my bucket list because they look incredible!
I'm not quite a cupcake aficionado as Sam, but walking down the streets of New York, I saw something that I had never seen before.
The Cupcake ATM
I'm sorry, but nothing is going to come close to anything as cool as this. Because it's an ATM. BUT YOU GET CUPCAKES INSTEAD OF MONEY. WHY IS THIS NOT EVERYWHERE? WHY CAN'T I START USING CUPCAKES AS CURRENCY?
Seriously, though, I didn't get a chance to try this magnificent creation out yesterday, but I will do my darnedest to seek one out before I go back home to the land of stupid regular cupcake stores.
