Sweet Sisterhoods

As you may have noticed, we're all about promoting ladies on this site, so what better way to do that than by talking about some of our favourite female friendships?

Jane

Erin, Abby, Jillian and Patty - Ghostbusters

Those who bust ghosts together, stay together. I still can't get over this movie many weeks later. This is friendship at its purest. Everyone has each other's backs, there is no jealousy or hurtful words thrown around, just four funny, smart and badass ladies taking charge and saving the day.

Max and Chloe - Life is Strange

Though their friendship is rocky when we first meet Max and Chloe, we find out about their strong bond and by the end of the game, we see just how much they care for each other, and in the end, will do absolutely anything for each other.

Sam

Lena, Bridget, Tibby, and Carmen - The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

This book made me cry when I read it the first time at 13 and it's still one of my favourite series (even though the "adult" installment was SUPER depressing). It's fairly realistic (apart from the jeans-that-fit-everyone part), and their relationships have their ups and downs, but at the end of the day, these girls have each others' backs. And that's really all I want in a friendship.

Rory and Paris - Gilmore Girls

While the titular girls of the show have the ultimate mother-daughter relationship, I personally love how Rory and Paris end up being BFFs. Despite Paris hating Rory when she first started at Chilton, they eventually became inseparable. Paris encourages Rory - in her own way - to be the very best she can be (academically), while Rory grounds Paris who tends to be very high-strung. Much as I love Rory's childhood best friend Lane, I think her friendship with Paris is more dynamic - they're alike in many ways, but different enough to keep things interesting.

Princess Bubblegum and Marceline - Adventure Time

Personally, I like to believe that these two had a past relationship, but even if they are "just friends", you can't deny how exciting their lives are. Marceline may spend a lot of time antagonizing Bubblegum, but PB's most prized possession is a shirt that Marcy gave her...and if the "Sky Witch" episode doesn't break your heart thinking about what these girls have gone through together, then you may not even have a heart.

Honorable mentions: Buffy and Willow (Buffy the Vampire Slayer); Mia and Lilly (The Princess Diaries - especially the first movie); and the Sailor Scouts (Sailor Moon).
